Question CQE Study Guide Indicative of Test Difficulty?

I was just looking at the CQE exam brochure and going over the "Study Guide" questions in it. Are those questions really a good indication of what the test is like?

I've heard the test is a 'giant screaming mess' yet the study guide questions barely required any thought. Is ASQ just trying to lull people into a false security so they fail the test and have to pay to re-take it?

I think the questions in study guide are reasonably representative of the exam questions. I wrote certification exams before ASQ released Sample Exam (75 Questions). Hence, I used the study guide 25 questions as a gauge to measure before and after preparations. I use to score 70% before preparation and 90% after preparation. I found the CRE- Study questions really challenging than others.

There will be more difficult questions (higher cognitive level) in the exam. But the proportion of these difficult questions is about 10 to 15% max.

Certification Exam is good revenue to ASQ. However, I personally do not think reputed organization like ASQ would intentionally trick people into writing exam for increasing their revenue. People fail because they do not adequately prepare for the exams.

ASQ set equators and also monitor difficulty level for every exam sitting. I understand the cut off score is adjusted depending on the difficulty of the exam.

Regards,
Govind.
