Which OEM's require suppliers to become 3rd party certified to 9100 series
Which OEM's or tier 1 suppliers require their suppliers to become AS/EN9100 certified? Is it mandatory?
Thanks

Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier, GE AE, some of Lockheed Martin, some of Northrop Grumman, UTA and a few others...

Hamilton Sundstrand and Honeywell ES&S (due to Boeing requiring them) are requiring us to be certified. We are having our registration audit at the end of this month, however, because we are beyond their suggested deadlines, our supplier ratings reflect the fact that we are not AS9100 certified. Soon to be rectified.

Being from one of the OEM's orginally it's not mandatory to be ISO, that is if you don't want to do business with them i.e. Boeing, Airbus, and Hamliton Sunstrand is at a point were their reducing their supplier base and one of the crtierias the OEM's are looking at is who is ISO/AS certified and who isn't.

Airbus mandate.
The Airbus mandate is available through this link:
http://www.airbus.com/store/mm_repos...ate_letter.pdf.
Actually it requires the suppliers to make the "private data" in the OASIS database available to Airbus.
It also requires NADCAP approval for some special processes.
