Recommendations for a Projector

I suppose i will have to bite the financial bullet sooner or later and buy a projector.

I would like a small one that is easy to transport.

Does anybody have any recommendations. A price and retailer would be even better, these things nearly always seem to be cheaper in America.

Regards

Yin Yang

I bought a Polaroid 211E a couple of years ago and I like it a lot - but it's not exactly light nor small and you have to buy a hard carrying case if you want to take it on an airplane. It was about US$4500 as I remember. Includes a remote and works on both PeeCee and my Mac powerbook.

The bulbs are rated at about 2000 hours as I remember and are over a hundred dollars.

I bought it thru mail order - like MacWarehouse or such.

I've been looking to. Had a chance at a used demo. InFocus I think for $2500. Also like Proxima. Just did a web hit and it looks like they merged. I'll probably lean that way. FYI, my husbands company just furnished 2 training rooms with Proxima - after some research.

Would love any input as well.

Hehehe...

I was lucky enough to pick up a proxima a couple years ago...its a bit big, but they have a smaller model now. Can't beat the quality...came with a hard case.....about the size of a carry-on...and has wheels..it listed for 10k, but found a dealer of electonics (Computers) that didn't know what he had...got it for 2.5k...he bought out a comp USA warehouse...it was a fluke, i lucked out...has all the bells and whistles that I never use !!,,,it also projects from TV DVD and VCR or digital cam corders..as well as the computer. tTe quality is flawless no matter what the source. replacement bulbd are about $400 i think....and think its life is 4000 hours....

We watched the superbowl the first year....7 x7 foot screen..COOL

3M seem to have developed a very small lightweight unit. They have a big advert in the Economist, but it doesnt tell you the price, doesnt refer you to a website, doesnt give you the model number, and the 24 Hr answerphone doesnt work.

I m willing to bet that some marketing company was paid a fortune to create this ad.

Regards
