Please Help! Training Record Matrix Macros in Excel .xls spreadsheet

I am developing a traing matrix to keep track of my employees training. I have the basic design but I wanted to incoporate macros and other add-ins such as one that will change the color of the revision number of the employee after the revision number of the document is changed. This would help me keep my employees up to date on the training because after a document has gone up two revisions the employee needs to be fully retrained. So any guidance about formatting or add-ins would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard about the cove for a number of years but just now became a member, great stuff here.

Default Welcome

Biggierob

Welcome. For a real simple start try Format/Conditional Formatting. It will let you change both text and background colors. A summer student showed it to me and I now use it a lot.

As an auditor I would definitely be asking you to defend the "retrain on the second change approach". Make sure you have thought this through and can defend it. What about a major change that impacts quality?

You will likely find that you soon need to create an Access database. And you may soon be spending a lot of time programming (great fun) rather than doing Quality (not so much fun). There is a wide range of off the shelf software out there from hundreds to hundreds of thousand$. Somthing to consider.

Default Example of training matrix for TS 16949 Internal Auditors

Here is an example of a training matrix that I use for TS 16949 internal auditors. Notice the conditional formatting features and measurment / data analysis potential. This may give you some ideas for your matrix. Enjoy!

Rob !
If you run a google search on "excel tutorial" and "excel add in", you will find a lot of free stuff. If you post your sheet with some guidance and indication on what you want, I may help you. Now your question is too general for me, seems that you are looking for general info.

isoboy, I see Mr. Hand is way behind in his training and only competent in assembly. Has he performed any hands on audits?
