Hello:
This is urgent and any help regarding this will be higly appreciaited. Thanks in advance
I wanted to check our sales and quote procedue with the standard to see if we meet the standard. I dont know which doccument we have to refer (Our quality manager does not know either :O). I was searching in the internet(AIAG) and found many Doccuments, Can someone tell me which doccuments (pls assume that we dont have any documents) are needed for learning the requirements of the standard.
These are some of the doccuments that i found:
TS RULES-2: ISO/TS 16949:2002 Auto. Cert. Scheme-Rules
TS-2K: ISO/TS 16949:2002 and Rules 2nd edition
TS-2KA: ISO/TS 16949:2002 and Rules 2 Ed. Auditor Edition
TSRULES-2A: ISO/TS 16949:2002 AutoCert ScheRules Auditor Ed
Pls tell me the difference between this doccuments, also I have seen there are tons of supporting doccuments.we are a metal forming company. Do we need any supporting doccuments.
Thanks in advance for the help

Just the tip of the iceberg...since it's urgent

I would suggest, in declining order of importance:

TS-2K: ISO/TS 16949:2002 and Rules 2nd edition
This contains the TS16949 standard (plus the complete text of ISO9001:2000 in one book and the Certification Rules that you and your registrar must follow to achieve certification in another book.

TS-GS: IATF Guidance to ISO/TS 16949:2002
This one explains a little more detail behind what they are looking for.

You don't need the auditor editions and they make you buy the Rules with the Standard so you don't need to buy the Rules only.

And finally:
ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9004-2000 - Quality Management Systems : Guidelines for Performance Improvements This gives ISO's original intent for improvement behind each of the clauses in the standard.

Thanks a million for the quick reply. So you are saying either
TS-2K: ISO/TS 16949:2002 and Rules 2nd edition OR
TS-GS: IATF Guidance to ISO/TS 16949:2002
is what we needed.
Once again thanks for the quick reply.

Close. You ABSOLUTELY need the TS-2K: ISO/TS 16949:2002 and Rules 2nd edition . You may want to ALSO purchase the TS-GS and the ISO9004:2000 documents. The Guidance document DOES NOT contain the the complete text of the ISO/TS16949 standard and neither does ISO9004:2000.

Thanks once again for the help
These are the documents that I found here. I don’t know if these are the complete set of documents for TS. Technical specification ISO/TS16949, It contains all details (1 -8.)
Another document contain almost the same details in the above document plus details about ISO 9004:200 and ISO 9001:2000
I am assuming these are the complete set reference for TS. Am I right? I don’t know if this "TS rules" is a separate document or it include in the above mentioned documents.
Thanks for the help:thanx:

Alright, peach, I've got some time.
Here's the entire set of what you would need to COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND all of the requirements to register, with a 3rd party, to ISO/TS16949:2002. To begin the understanding, you only need the first 2 documents. They can be ordered from AIAG.ORG under part number TS-2K for $30 US. ($90 exorbitant non-members price)

ISO/TS 16949:2002(E) Quality Management System – Particular Requirements for the Application of ISO 9001:2000 for Automotive Production and Relevant Service Part Organizations

IATF ISO/TS 16949:2002 Automotive Certification Scheme - Rules for Achieving IATF Recognition (Second Edition)

FMEA Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (Third Edition)

ISO 9000:2000 (Fundamentals and vocabulary) is normative (auditable) to TS-16949:2002, so I'd list that as a must have document.
