IMDS concern (re: CaZn Complex Stabilizers) - No CAS number
Hi to all!
Does anyone here involved in MDS uploading?
Please, kindly help...
How can i add CaZn complex stabilizer in the basic substance of a material?
Since it doesnt have any CAS # and not listed on the Basic Substances in the IMDS.
The only result that appears on my search in the IMDS is:
- Calcium complex soap for lubricants
In which based on my research, CaZn Stabilizer is also known as lubricants and thickeners.
Would the above search result be acceptable for CaZn Stabilizer?
This is the only information we can have from our supplier.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds right, but I'm not dealing with this on a daily basis.
Anyone else?

I haven't run into quite this problem before, but I believe I know a way around it, presuming you have sufficient information.
If you know the chemical makeup of the product, you can create an IMDS entry for it as a stand-alone; then reference that one in your component IMDS.

Insulation Material
The above mentioned CaZn Complex is a content of the Wire Insulation.
Here's the Material Composition of the Wire Insulation (PVC Compound):
Raw Material < CAS Number>
- Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin (58%)- <9002-86-2>
- Plasticizer (DINP) (9%) - <68515-48-0>
- Stabilizer (CaZn complex) (25%) - <no CAS # & not in the IMDS Basic Substances>
- Filler (5%) - <system (Further Additives)>
- Others (3%) - <system (Misc.)>
These are the material content I already entered in the Insulation material Subcomponent of a Wire. I used wild cards (pseudo substance) for the Filler & others.
I cannot continue to upload completely the MDS since i lack a basic substance. The Material Composition should be equal to 100%. And i cannot use a wild card for the CaZn since wild cards should not go above 10%.
Why does CaZn not in the list of Basic Substances in the IMDS but it is a widely used Stabilizer?
Any help?...

Have you asked your supplier for a MSDS?
