TS Pup, what will we call you?
Somehow calling a young woman TS Dog isn't too flattering. Still, it beats the alternative for what a female puppy grows up to be. Wait. Perhaps you are a fox pup, not a dog pup. TS Fox could work
I like you...you will be my freind!! Sadly I am a little of both...more of the FOX type than the other!! I'm sure SteelWoman will not agree!! She will say it's the other way around. Oh well...we have to be strong in this business. She is known as the TS watch dog...everyone fears her...so I have to have a little of the female dog in me to follow in her shoes. Actually I feel more like a duck baby...imagine me waddling along behind SteelWoman...with my internal auditors. Mama duck with the babies!!

1. Tracy Lawson
2. Config./Document Control Mgr
3. Electronic materials manufacturing (Supplier to Semiconductor Industry)
4. Honeywell Electronic Materials - Spokane, Washington
5. Overall 13 years in Quality Assurance - lots of different positions....learned lots of things.
6. While I enjoy my job and co-workers and get lots of satisfaction from doing a job well ... the most important thing in my life is time with family and friends. I bet that few of us will have wished we spent more time working when we are at the end of our time here on earth.....so enjoy life!
7. In many instances, Quality is given lip-service.
8. I think someone already mentioned this, but start teaching quality fundamentals in schools. (Realize this is being done in some area - but limited....) Also believe that companies should require that all Leaders/CEO's have spent time (min. 18 months) working as part of some Quality Assurance organization.

I've been lurking here for a few weeks, perhaps I should take an opportunity to introduce myself.

1. Mike Jillson

2. Senior Quality Engineer

3. Medical Device

4. A small medical device company in southern New Hampshire

5. Officially, 3 weeks

6. Probably that my work history led me to this position without ever being in a position within a quality department. I started out designing manufacturing plants, moved to contract research, then development of a pilot product (where I wrote most of the quality documentation, because we didn't have a QE on the project), then more research, and finally SSBB (which my former company had as part of the Plant Management function, not quality).

7. I'll let you know. I will say, that having been on both sides of the "quality police" issue, it doesn't bother me as much as many others when people feel like the quality department is blocking progress; it's really an education issue, most of the time.

8. Nothing yet.
