Lurker How many companies have really benefited from ISO 14000

Can someone tell me how many companies have really benefited from ISO 14000 as it is claimed ? Or is it juct for the kick of getting a certificate ? Also do you know of any country which has made ISO 14000 Mandatory ?

Nagesh,
1. Who is claiming?
2. Nobody spends money "just for kicks".
3. Is it mandatory in some places? Don't know. I leave that question to the Environmental experts, like Randy!

I don't know on any countries, but the B3 require ISO 14001. Ford & Chrysler require certification, I believe GM only requires conformance (may now be certification?)

No countries that I know of yet.

President Clinton signed into law requirements for all US Government agencies to impliment EMS for their organizations about a year ago. The executive orders he signed directly paralleled ISO 14000. This will have some impact eventually.

Randy,

That sure doesn't surprise me. Although I believe that we all need to be aware of envrironmental concerns, our former president took it to a level that would lead us all to think that the U.N. runs the planet.

(Let's start another topic of how the U.N. is involved in the process.!)

Come on people, where do you think ISO comes from????!!!!

NWO/NSA/TLC/Bilderbergers/Jekyl Island/Unseen Hand/Masons/Rothchilds etc...

If you want to know who controls the world, follow the money.

Covering Ass

Yeah - I re-read the thread and reacted pretty strongly. I've deleted my posts - I really want to keep politics out of the forums. We did that last fall. I just got kinda pissed when I saw that boo hiss bit. I mean, the guy is out of office. Let it rest. I saw your I take care of my family post and honestly didn't see the last line saying they all will screw us - which, actually, is the way I feel about it all. Politicians are by the very nature of the job power brokers. We middle and lower class are screwed more often than we win. I wasn't a Clinton fan in all he did whilst in office, but he isn't, and wasn't, the 'evil' person he has been made out to be.

I don't depend upon the government for my well being either, however I do realize some day it may be that I will have no choice. Peoples fortunes can quickly turn.

My apologies for 'jumping the gun' so to speak.
