Question What is a 'layered audit'? Layered Process Audit (LPA) - A GM requirement?

Hello..cuve!!

Today. I heared "Layered audit" from our customer.
The customer said that your company very strongly required layered audit!!
But I don't know the "layered audit"..
Regard to TS requirements, Audit is classfied QMS, Manufacturing and Product audit.. What is Layered audit??? How can i conduct the "layered audit"?? Also What's defferent with the other audit such as system audit, process audit, product audit..etc...?
I hope very detailed information for the layered audit.
Thans...

Please follow Marc's link. Around the 5th or 6th thread down you'll GM and Layered Audits. Or try a search using "GM" and "layered audits" as your key words.

GM is only 2 letters so it won't show up in a search.

However, I was looking at the 'Similar Threads' box at the bottom of this thread page and the GM layered audit thread shows up there, too.

If you are a supplier to GM you should have access to their website (SupplyPower) and be able to get your hands on the most recent edition of their "procedure".

Bill I cannot find any procedure at supplypower and in fact there is no reference to LPA in the GM CSR.
Is there in fact a procedure, are LPA's actually mandated by GM?

I looked also (after my post) and couldn't find any reference either. Not sure what's up but I "know" I've seen it mentioned before I'll do some more digging today.
