Thanks flag?
What's the new data set in the upper right corner with the karma and rep data? How does it get populated? See thumbnail.

Well, look at the bottom of posts next to the 'quote' button (not installed in the moderators forum) and you'll see a 'Thanks' button. It's a 'hack'. AJAX Post Thank You Hack
Now - To see if it works...

BTW - I moved this to the public forum because it's a new feature.
Discussion welcome. Good idea or bad?

Well, many users who may not find time to reply in full yet want to thank the reply poster can now just click thanks. I thanked marc for adding this feature and for providing the forum. I think it is quick nice recognition for the reply provider. Good idea.
Regards,
Govind.

That's sorta how I looked at it when I thought about installing it. The 'Karma' (aka Reputation) aspect of the software is nice, but I thought this might be more apt to be used.

I'll really be interested in seeing the frequency of use - this could be more useful than karma because readers other than the poster will be able to see the thanks for a particular post versus "general karma."

I think this is a great idea, some days (weeks) I just don't get the time to post or write a thank you in the karma feature, this makes it really easy to click a quick thanks!
