Let Me Help You Manual Combo - QS-9000 and ISO14000 in one manual

About three years ago a trend was started to to integrate qs9000 and iso14000 in to one manual. This would then be called a "buisness operating system", a "management system" or something similar.
Is this an acceptable method? Has anyone else attempted this? What are some of the pitfalls? Is this acceptable to registrars?

Thank you for your input.

Just as an initial response, I would like to look into it further.

For what it is worth, we are working on combining QS and 14000. Our registrars recommended we do so to save money on surveillance audits. So far I have found about 50% overlap in the two. They do actually fit together quite nicely. Watch out that your registrar can do both. Apparently at the moment there are some who can't. Maybe these are the ones who are saying "don't do it".
