At our facility, we already have a quality system in place (ISO9000 and QS9000). However,there are some aircraft customers very interested in us. The only hang up is that we do not meet the AS9000 standard requirements. We do have a quality manual and procedures covering the ISO/QS side of things. I have a copy of the AS standards right here in front of me. How would you guys do this? Maybe add an appendix called "AS9000 Requirements" or something? I do not want to re-write another whole manual just for a couple of add in statements (I will add BIG to statements). Please assist with any information that you can provide on this subject.

I would have a matrix with all the requirements. Check out http://Elsmar.com/pdf_files/ and look for QS-Req.pdf I did this with VDA6 a while back. Actually, the original had Ford and Chrysler requirements as well
I would ammend your current QA manual - 1 manual is enough if it addresses everything, however I can't see why the appendix approach wouldn't work.
Marc's idea of a matrix that lists you procedures for meeting the ISO/QS requirements vs. the AS 9100 requirements would be your best bet. QS-9000 goes above and beyond the requirements for AS so I think you will find that you do not have many (if any) gaps between the two standards. Oh yeah, AS-9000 has changed to As-9100
