Please Help! Help with Six Sigma DMAIC (Define - Measure - Analyze - Improve - Control)

A client has asked for some consulting help from me, wants it in the form of a six sigma project. I drafted the following. Is it reasonable? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Rex Clingan

6 Sigma approach

Define:
Define problem/opportunity.

Measure:
Measure performance of system before improvements made.

Analyze:
Analyze data from existing operation. Develop appropriate models. Use models to interpret data from existing operation. Develop candidate hypotheses for cause of problem. Rank hypotheses and select most promising. Develop methods to test selected hypotheses.

Improve:
Develop alternative options for improving process. Determine costs for each. Rank and select most promising for implementation. Implement. Evaluate results.

Control:
Establish controls to maintain improvement. Monitor ongoing performance against targets set.

Rex,

Your response seems as reasonable as as anything else I have seen regarding six sigma. Since it also fits the Deming PDCA approach I would fly with it.

Rick
