Re: Gage R&R Studies
Welcome to the cove.
If you are looking for MSA spreadsheets or example MSA's, please search within this forum. You will find many useful examples already available here.
If you have specific questions regarding MSA's, you will have to provide sufficient detail for us to assist you. Providing the actual data also helps.
Welcome again, and we look forward to more posts.

Also check the Post File Atachments Listing and the Free Files directory. There are lots of spreadsheets here.
And as a 'quickie', scroll to almost the bottom of this page and look at the "Similar Threads" links.
Not to mention - Thank the Moderators for everything they do! I couldn't keep things going here without their generosity!

Re: Gage R&R Studies Excel .xls spreadsheet
I’m somewhat sceptical about these Excel spreadsheets claiming to do what perhaps a statistical package should be doing. I have used a series of excel spreadsheet from various sources and all of them gave a different result, albeit only a small variance. Perhaps this is a failing of the AIAG by not providing excel examples that accompany the workbook, it would be highly useful when reading the book if you could see some quantifiable practical evidence to back up the theory.
Having said that, when you see and understand how products such as Minitab calculate the interactions of various operators, parts, measuring devices, runs etc, then you can surmise that a simple excel spreadsheet will give rough indication of variation and perhaps highlight some high influencing element, but wont give you a clear and precise understanding of the entire process?
If I’m asked to give a definitive answer, I would spend the extra money to buy Minitab, which is multi industry recognised as the best statistical software package and is only, roughly, £800.00.
Regards

Re: Gage R&R Studies Excel .xls spreadsheet
It's been a while since I've done any Gage R&R studies, but as I recall the calculations weren't that complex. So I'm surprised that the results you're getting vary with the same data.
But, I've never done anything with MSA, so if that's what you're referring to, disregard the above statements.
You might try looking at QI Macros.

Re: Gage R&R Studies Excel .xls spreadsheet
Have used this before and yes I found it very easy to use, until I tried to get rid of it off my computer!
It took my hours and it just kept on appearing all the time, very similar to a virus I might add! I'm not suggesting it is, that was my experience of the software, but like I said, fantastic nonetheless.

Re: Gage R&R Studies Excel .xls spreadsheet
You might take another look at it. I haven't run the new version, but I know the old version was run as old Excel 4.0 macros. Excel 2007 finally broke the old macros (they've been unsupported for years), so they were forced to come out with a re-written version. Maybe it will have a better uninstaller this time.
