Welcome to the Cove. I saw your interesting posts relating to AS 9120. I am not an expert in that filed and will have to wait for the experts to reply you back.

It is not necessary to become a register aduitor as you just are a internal auditor.But I think you should attend a training course about As9120 which may be organized by a consult comany or certification body.The competency of the internal auditor is important to improve efficient in the audit.

Thanks Windsal but I was not talking about registration for the internal auditor. I was asking whether the internal auditor course for AS9120 needs to be a registered or certified course.

It is always better if the course comes from a known organization but it is not necessary.

Some registrars have webinar training for AS9120 and internal auditing which may help you out.

Do you know whether check list is a must for conducting AS9120 internal audit?

Looking at AS9120, 8.2.2- there is no reference to a requirement for checklists. It also says that you have to define the method for performing audits.

If you are looking for a checklist, the auditor from the registrar uses AS9121.
