Screw New to Minitab - What Data to use for SPC?

hey everyone!
i'm new to minitab and workin on spc applications....well the question is:
what data should i use to get;
kurtosis
skewness
xbar-r chart
histogram
probability plot and normal capability analysis?

i mean, for which ones shall i use the cumulative-X data(with subgroups defined) , or for which ones the x-mean data?? i've already got results but i'm so not sure if i used the correct data...cuz differences occur between the results of x-mean data and cumulative-x data...

hope you'll be able to understand my question as i'm a disaster in terminology and technical stuff)

I am not sure that understand the question.

I strongly suggest that you consider attending a Minitab training sessions (see Minitab.com). This will give you the knowledge to become a proficient user of Minitab SPC tools.

In the mean time, please take a look to this file (page 23)
http://www.minitab.com.tw/Files/2006...TAB-071406.pdf

I hope this takes you closer to the solution of your problem.

As a quick "basic" help-out here,

1.)Stat,Basic Statistics, Graphical Summary = Skewness, Kurtosis etc.
2.)Stat,Quality Tools,Capability Sixpack, Normal = X Bar & R, Probability, CPK,PPK etc.

Of course, you have to have your data entered in a manner that makes sense to the program and understand what the metrics of impact are (Confidence Levels etc.) - but, this should give you the most basic of starts.

Good Luck.
