What is the meaning of the Asterisk in Minitab distribution fitting?
In the function of individual distribution identification tool under the goodness of fit tests, the P-value is sometimes a (*).
Nowhere in the help files have I been able to find what this means but I am assuming that it means the P-value is just just highly insignificant as in, 0.001or something.
Is this correct.
sample..
Distribution AD P
Normal 0.957 0.014
3-Parameter Lognormal 0.816 *
Re: What is the meaning of the Asterisk in Minitab distribution fitting?
Minitab should have had this in the Help section, but fortunately did post it online. Minitab cannot calculate a p-value for certain distributions and displays an asterisk. This gives a detailed explanation of how to interpret the results based on the other statistics.
