I Say... FreeMind: Open Source Mind Mapping Software

In my travels through the interwebs I came across a free, open-source mind mapping application called FreeMind. I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet, but it looks like it could be useful for a lot of Coverinos. The interface isn't real intuitive, so spend some time with the documentation (found under "Help" on the top) to avoid frustration. Also, the program requires Java to be installed in order for it to function. Most folks already have Java installed, and it's also free and readily available, so it's not a big deal.

Re: FreeMind: Open Source Mind Mapping Software

Hi

I have also used FreeMind fairly often and find it very usefull in getting the team to explore the many avenues of improvement. I also get a large print so i can post it on their wall so when they identify another issue they can just add a post it note for discussion or invetigation.
Great Forum by the Way

Re: FreeMind: Open Source Mind Mapping Software

I didn't 'mind' freemind - but having used MindManager for more than 7 years I found it a bit lacking. A recent change in my work computing environment meant that I couldn't use MindManager any more so I started looking for alternatives and the best I found was a web 2.0 product www.mindomo.com
It is very similar in interface and function to MindManager, you just need internet access.
