I "googled" around for a while, and could not find anything.

You may want to contact some of the German Registrars/CB's directly and find out if there are any courses available in the USA. They may know.

Do you want to VDA 6.1 or VDA 6.3?
I don't think that there is any real demand for VDA 6.1 but try also VDA-QMC
