Marc,
Will your travels bring you to the Southeastern US anytime soon? Chattanooga, Birmingham, etc.?

I have no idea at his point, but I'll let you know if I end up down that way.

Hi Marc,
I no longer live in Portland, but that is where I was born, and went to school through high school at Benson Polytechnic. We lived at 35th and Lincoln (Southeast side of town).
I was last in Portland in September, 2007. I have a brother still living there, and one in Vancouver, Washington.
If you have time, I recommend two sightseeing trips.
1. Go West to Canon Beach, and visit Ecola State Park. Astor Column of the Lewis & Clark memorial is in Astoria. The drive along the coastline is beautiful. There are also lighthouses that you can visit. They are listed on the internet.
2. Go East out the Columbia River. Stop at Multnomal Falls (630 ft high waterfall). Then continue to Hood River, and then take the loop back around Mt. Hood. Visit Timberline Lodge. Then back to Portland.
