Welcome Longnhanvo,

I think you had asked a question that is to wide and general that it becomes difficult for others to offer you help or advice. Give us further details so that others can offer meaningful advice.

What are you packing? Is it medical?
What are your organization's tolerance/specification? +/- Xml?
What are your customer's specifications if any?
What is your current practice?
What kind of volume are you producing per hour/day?

I would also add:

are you receiving a single 'can' at a time or many cans?
Is each can a single vendor lot or a portion (sublot) of a larger production lot from the vendor?
Is the vendor production lot provided only to you or is it split among among other customers?

Are you concerned about a defect level within the can? such as a ppm level of material constituents?

are you concerned about continuous data (something you can mesaure) or categorical data (something you can only count)

What is the defect level you are willing to accept?
What is defect level you want to reject?

Dear Harry,
Thanks for your respond and sorry for reply late, we package paint, metal can. We receive a lot of cans at a time , it is around 500 pcs to 3000pcs per lot. At current we dont have defect level and I am considering for it. We usually take 10 sample for one lot and check appearance, weight, heigh, diameter, topple test, lid test. and we reject if only one pcs fail and our supplier dont' agree.
Could you give me your advice in this field or practice from your site?
Many thanks & regards.

There are several issues here.

1. If you had not specified any quality parameters when you negotiate with your supplier, of course he is not going to agree with your arbitrary rejection.

2. The next thing you should fall back to is to check if your supplier offer any of their own specifications. If there is, then you can only reject if it fails to meet their own specifications.

3. If there is none from both parties, then it becomes a re-negotiation of contract. But where did you get the specifications that you mentioned? If it is too tight, it may cause unnecessary increase in cost. I am not familiar with this business but the most logical thing to do is to see what others in your industry do - check what your competitors or other suppliers are specifying.

There's an online AQL calculator here.
