Employee Reviews not completed - Audit Finding - Difficult Finding to Answer
During a recent internal audit a finding was written against management of the bussiness unit for not completeing employee reviews on time. Three employees with 3 different managers did not have reviews completed by their due date. ( note there are only about 7 employees on this particular review format...so 3 is significant in this case)
What could be the root cause here?
What could be the corrective action?

Re: Difficult Finding to Answer
We are going through our reviews at present. Funnily enough mine should have been last month, but that was put on hold as my boss had not yet received her's. That ran a month late so now I am running late too. Root cause may just be the standard prioritising and of course the classic "i'm too busy today, maybe tomorrow.." approach. I suppose for many people giving reviews is not the most important thing on their to do list (of course receiving review is another matter all together).

What standard are we talking about first?
If this is ISO9001:200x or AS9100B, is this finding addressing paragraphs 6.2.1, and/or 6.2.2?
I would still wonder why this was identified as a Non-conformance (NC).

Root cause? He/She is in the corner office.
I still haven't been reviewed for 2007. I relish the notion of our external auditor finding it. Then we'll get a corrective action that management will act on.

Re: Employee Reviews not completed - Audit Finding - Difficult Finding to Answer
9001/2000
Standard Section 6.2.2
Our QMS manual states that we will conduct the reviews anually. They were past due. That is why the finding was written. It was an NC against our quality manual.

It may not be specified in a standard, but in the company's procedures...Just a thought...

That is what I thought, first. Thanks for the thought. It has been clarified that it is in the QMS.

Re: Employee Reviews not completed - Audit Finding - Difficult Finding to Answer
Of course its a non conformance, not following procedures.
Root cause: you would have to ask the supervisor. if they didn't have time, then right it up as resources, or training (time management).
Corrective Action: have the dummy, i mean employee, follow the same process as supervisors that get theirs done (benchmarking) or have them train someone to do his/her tasks while they take the time to do the reviews.
