Experience with IPC 1752 compliance? Manage and report ROHS information
One of our medical device customers is asking us to manage and report ROHS information utilizing an IPC1752-compliant system.
Anyone have comments based on relevant experience, particularly with information management using an in-house database approach instead of a purchased proprietary database system that's specific to this task?

Yes, we have a lot of experience in this standard (IPC 1752 ) and the latest update in to this standard. What kind of information are you looking for?

Are you managing and reporting ROHS information with an in-house database (spreadsheet or whatever) or a commercial software package?

Re: Experience with IPC 1752 compliance? Manage and report ROHS information
IPC 1752 is basically a PDF template and all compliance management softwares allow you to publish in to this format using XL files or XML data.
My company is a service provider in compliance data management and we have used different softwares like Agile PG&C, MDW- Goodbyechain group, Foresite systems software for this publishing.
Eventhough IPC has used Adobe's format in this version, there was lot of discussion on using a commercial software like Adobe for this purpose. Now IPC is in the process of developing an opensource application for material declaration publishing named "Scriba". The software is still in the beta stage, and may come out early next year. (Since it is too late now, I am not sure what direction it will take now)
