Even though the IAQG Standards Development Overview document states that 9100 Rev. C would be released before the end of 2008, I got from a very reliable source that we won't see Rev. C of AS9100 before January 2009.

I haven't heard anything lately, but I got a voice message from Buddy Cressionnie today. I'll ask him if he has a date when I return the call tomorrow...
I've been in contact with two very reliable sources today that confirm what Sidney said. The standard will be released in January - probably in the first half of the month.
The delay is due to the international coordination not being completed. The AAQG doesn't want to release the Americas version with a 2008 date, and have the European and Asian versions with 2009 dates.
Thanks to howste for your informative Post and/or Attachment!
I have received inquiries and wanted to provide a short update on the revised 9100 Aviation, Space and Defense QMS standard which will be published January 2009 in the Americas. Publishing the Americas document in 2009 will align our release year with the European and Asia-Pacific versions which are scheduled to be released in 2009. Therefore, the document will be known internationally as 9100:2009. There are only minor changes from the May 2008 9100 ballot draft with no technical changes. To protect the copyright sensitivies, I am not forwarding the final draft document.
The following 9100 activities have occurred since the last IAQG Meeting in October 2008:
o Dispositioned ballot results sent to IAQG Standards Management Leader - Complete October
o Incorporated dispositioned comments and ISO 9001:2008 changes - Complete October
o 14-day AAQG Affirmation Ballot - Complete November
o SAE editor formatting - Complete November
o 28-day SAE Aerospace Council Ballot - Complete December
o IAQG Standards Management Leader release for publication â€" In-work
The AS9100C proposed transition period has not changed from the briefed 30 months starting March 2009, see attached slide. As we get closer to release of AS9100 and AS9101, the OPMT will formally announce the transition period. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you have a safe and happy holiday!
Thanks,
Buddy Cressionnie
9100 Americas Lead
