how to you pronounce "FMEA"?
"F-M-E-A" is the most common "pronunciation" that I hear, although I have heard "FEMA" used a few times, as well...

Re: The Elsmar Coffee Shop

Weather in Utah has been pretty good this year. Mountains have had lots of snow - good for the ski resorts (base of 110 inches at Alta - a 20 minute drive from my house; at least 70 inches at the Park City resorts) and to keep reservoirs filled - but not so much in the valleys that it's been inconvenient.

We sometimes get up in the 43 C range in the summer. But then we have some summers when we don't hit 100 F.

how to you pronounce "FMEA"?
Please, I beg of you, F.M.E.A.

My pet peeve when it comes to quality tools is to say that you have a FEMA to complete. But, having passed all my FEMA courses in incident command, it's kinda like fingernails on a blackboard to hear the two used interchangeably. FEMA is emergency management type stuff. FMEA is quality management type stuff.

I say "Fee muh," but I've been known to try to create trends rather than follow them.

For me it's usually "FEMA" but it's more a matter of parsimony--two syllables instead of four. "FMEA" as an acronym (which is what it is when pronounced as "FEMA") was being uttered long before the federal agency came into existence. In writing I'll usually use the indefinite article "an" before "FMEA," which indicates that the reader will pronounce it as an initialization rather than as an acronym.
