Question NAS410 Rev-3 - Equivalent in Technical Content to EN 4179, Edition 4

The new revision states that it is "Equivalent in Technical Content to: EN 4179, Edition 4."

Has anyone done a comparison to see what "technical content" means?
If we are in compliance with NAS410 can we claim to be in compliance with EN4179?

Additionally, how does ISO 9712 differ from NAS410?

I don't want to spend the money on a spec when I don't have to. Can you help?

Re: NAS410 Rev-3

I can't offer an answer to your question but I do know that when this rev came out our level III got an NCR through our pfd audit as his certificate had not been updated in line with it.... gave me loads of confidence in his company!!

Re: NAS410 Rev-3 - Equivalent in Technical Content to EN 4179, Edition 4

Some of these specs you need notified that they are updated. Smaller companies may not have the resources to maintain a subscription to the load of specs for NDT!

We still receive PO's that call out NAS410 Rev-2 or better yet ASTM E-1444-01

I have to do a quarterly check on our specs (got hit on 1417-05e1 not being "on the floor") but customer flow down really helps.

As for the Level 3, nothing changed as per for training requirements. The eye exam changed but the vision call out is less than the Snellen, the other is that the specific exam is now "open" book and must contain questions from your current specs.
