Lean Manufacturing Software Advice and Suggestions

I'm a graduate student conducting research on how software can help to implement/maintain lean manufacturing principles. In particular I'm interested in learning about which software packages offer the greatest functionality in this area and why. The companies that I'm focussing my research on so far are PeopleSoft, Oracle, JCIT, American Software and Synquest. Does anyone have any information about these companies or ideas about what other companies are offering lean functionality?

Any information would be great.
