Please Help! Control Plans and Inspection Plans for panel board industries

Dear All,

I'm working in panel board assembly company. Basically it has fabricated (punching, bending, welding, powder coating and finally electrical parts assembly) parts around 7000 to 8000.

Parts may be repeat for other projects or it may be one piece.

Please help on how to prepare control plan / inspection plan for all parts.

Regards
Narasimhan

Re: How to implement ISO9001 for panel board industries

Welcome to The Cove!

The subject of making control plans has been covered extensively here already. The process steps or doing it will be similar among many industries.

So, I clicked on the (green) Post Attachments List button in the header and did a search using "control plan" key words. This list of attachments came up: Control Plan Post Files Attachments Listing

Most, if not all of those attachments will have a discussion associated with them. I encourage you to browse the threads and attachments and see if your needs can be met right away.

Feel free to repeat this process for any of your questions - it can be faster than the discussions, especially on weekends and U.S. holidays.

I hope this helps!

Narasimhan
Control plans are not required by ISO 9001.

From ISO 9001:2008

Quote:
7.1 Planning of product realization

The organization shall plan and develop the processes needed for product realization. Planning of product realization shall be consistent with the requirements of the other processes of the quality management system (see 4.1).

In planning product realization, the organization shall determine the following, as appropriate:
a) quality objectives and requirements for the product;
b) the need to establish processes and documents, and to provide resources specific to the product;
c) required verification, validation, monitoring, measurement, inspection and test activities specific to the product and the criteria for product acceptance;
d) records needed to provide evidence that the realization processes and resulting product meet requirements (see 4.2.4).

The output of this planning shall be in a form suitable for the organization's method of operations.

NOTE 1 A document specifying the processes of the quality management system (including the product realization processes) and the resources to be applied to a specific product, project or contract can be referred to as a quality plan.

NOTE 2 The organization may also apply the requirements given in 7.3 to the development of product realization processes.
Emphasis mine.

So you decide what would work best.

ISO/TS 16949 requires the development of control (quality) plans.
