Please Help! What's the cause of tailing factor in High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)?

dear all, does anyone know what the cause of tailing factor when examine the product/sample?
and how to solve the problem.

Eluent contamination is one cause of tailing. You may also want to clean your column if you haven't done it in awhile.

Following may also play a role for the cause of tailing factor.

Mobile phase pH, Column selection and packing material leach out.

tailing is evident because of secondary interactions between analyte and silica

silica surface is not entirely covered in RP groups (for example C18 chains) and so you have both interactions present - this is the most often a cause of tailing

Could be a column problem-there could be a void at the head. You may need to replace it, or clean it and fill the void with beads.
