Lightbulb Benchmarking Matrix

I would like to get some input from the forum of some benchmarking issues. If there is enough response I will crunch the data and post the final results. If warranted I will occasionally post updates to the matrix.

I would like responses to as many of the items as possible but I do realize there is data that some people will not want to post. The only thing I ask is that you do note your business type. (i.e. machining, forging, etc...)

Don't spend too much time compiling data, estimates are acceptable.

Here are the topics/questions:

1. Type of business:
2. Which "quality" system are you registered to:
3: Square footage of your facility:
4: Number of employees (full & part time):
5: Employee turnover rate:
6: What types of major equipment do you use:
7: Do you utilize an apprentice program:
8: Are you a private or public entity:
9: What are your shifts and work hours:
10: Are you design capable:
11: Number of engineers:
12: Are you CAD capable:
13: What are your approximate yearly sales:
14: Are you a union facility:
15: What is your average APQP/PR lead times:
16: Are you heat treat capable (internal or external):
17: Do you advertise:
18: Do you have safety and/or environmental concerns:
19: Do you use an internal CMM (or equivelent):
20: Do you have a web site:
21: Do you do your own trucking:
22: Are you minority owned:

Please feel free to add any additional items that you see fit and I will try to incorporate them into the final matrix.

I hope this works and I will be posting data from my current company shortly!
