Where and What Template to Purchase for implementing ISO 9001
Hi. with relation to the inquiry, I would like to ask where and what template to buy. I am starting an ISO9001:2008 project (from scratch), and to avoid consultancy costs, so I am planning on doing with a template..
Are there any trustworthy templates out there? Has anybody used one lately? Ihave searched the net, and found out that there are many sites offering these services, but I dont know what to chose.
Thanks.

Begin with purchasing the ISO 9001:2008 standards; this is the best 'template' for your project.
Sativ, if you do not have any QMS knowledge/experience, I would suggest looking out for a good consultant, in order to avoid being confused or losing track of what to do next. You can of course ask for help here, any question, any time.
Ciao.

Re: Where to Purchase an MS Word version of ISO 9001
I am sorry to have skipped this information. Yes, I already have knowledge in my previous firm (already established when I entered the company). But when I shift to work in this new firm, the mgt. tasked me in leading the implementation of the said QMS... thanks for the reply... appreciate it a lot!

You should know that there is a difference between being involved/working in an ISO 9001 established company and implementing ISO 9001 in a new company. Different ballgame altogether.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. Am I familiar with the ISO 9001 standards?
2. Do I understand and can interpret the requirements of the standards?
3. Do I know what to document, how much to document, how to document?
4. Is the Top management of the company interested and will be involved in all that I will do?
I have put only a few basic questions? There are many more. Also, chalk out a simple but precise Implementation Plan to start and keep track of your progress. Include Milestones within the plan to assure yourself of how good a progress you are making.
Ciao.

If this is the case, there are sufficient resources here to help you without the need of a 'commercial' template. Just ask and help will come your way.

On the usefulness (or not) of buying templates, see this quite recent thread: Packaged ISO Systems - Are canned policies and procedures worth it?

Re: Where and What Template to Purchase for implementing ISO 9001
Thanks. I have gone over to the links you posted, JaneB. I quite agree that templates will save me time in formatting and the structuring of the Quality Manual, but just to let every one know, that I have no intention of carrying over the statements, instead just re-state everything to actually fit what my firm does...
For this, can I ask for some format ideas? Thanks a lot.
