Please Help! Review of contract for part with safety characteristic

Dear all,
our customer has decided to introduce a delta-inverted characteristic on one part which is already running in serial production.
Therefore we shall submit an new offer for this part, which shall keep this change into account.
First I assume the traceability of each part ansd sub-component shall be assured. Second I thing we shall have a long-term registration of our quality controls.
Can someone support me identifying which activities shall be managed for a delta-inverted part?
Moreover I thing we shall additionally offer to the customer a delta-price due to the different risk that the supplier of a security part can run.
Which is your opinion about? How would you suggest to proceed?

I am wondering if this is the correct forum for this kind of posting.
Your help is much appreciated.

Best regards.

Just for clarification. You mentioned "inverted-delta." Is this a Ford part?

Dspinelli,

Just a hint.
PFMEA is the right tool to start with. All your Controls and Subsequently Cost comes out of it.

We are under co-design conditions with our customer.
Concerning the customer itself, it is not Ford, it is IVECO (belonging to FIAT Group).

Thank you for your support.
Regards.
