Question

Marc, I was browsing through the list of premium files. I *believe* the files I would need are the Member Files, the ISO 9001:2000 ones....? The $89.95 set? However, I want to double-check and enlist your expertise to determine what would give me the best information and guideline for what I'm trying to accomplish.

As I've posted elsewhere, I'm pretty much a novice, and have a cheapskate boss who is expecting me to put together the manuals we need to get certified. Since we don't do any design work, I'm told the certification we'd need is the ISO 9002. Would the information contained in your 9001:2000 files benefit me in this case?

We're a small sales office, no manufacturing, etc etc. So I basically need a framework to follow, and I have a feeling a lot of the files in your Premium package are far beyond what would apply to us.

Thanks for your help.

If all you are looking at is ISO 9001 (there is no longer an ISO 9002) then the ISO package would be sufficient. If you have any questions, give me a call and we can talk.

Question Yearly Subscription?

Quick question Marc, is your subscription fee one time, or yearly?

Yin Yang

Sorry I missed this. Well, yearly but right now if you've been a Member or Premium subscriber I'll extend your subscription for a few months or so if you ask. I plan some updates this winter but since things have been relatively static for the last 9 months I'm not charging for extensions.

I may graduate things as well, such as renewing at a reduced rate.

Been working too much to do much here but I'll get to it.

Read This! Attachments Downloads

As many of you know, during March 2003 I started asking for contributions to support the forums by limiting downloading of attachments to posts in threads in the forums to contributors and moderators. I apologise for the inconvenience, but so many people were coming, getting files and contributing nothing that I decided to reduce the site bandwidth use in this way. And yes - to keep the forums paying for themselves.

This was thoroughly discussed (with some contentiousness) in this thread:

Some Bickering and Chat

Although I had originally intended to limit a number of aspects of the software such as Private Messaging, I have changed that to only restrict access to attachments.

I do want to make sure everyone knows that if you have subscribed to the 'Members' or 'Premium' restricted directories, or if you have contributed attachments, just e-mail me and I'll give you Courtesy access to download attachments. It is not my intent to make a fortune off the site - it's hard enough to break even - but like most people I like to keep the bills paid. I am not a big company. On the other hand, what big company provides what you can get in the forums?

Thanks in advance!

Marc

Thumbs up

I'm relatively new here, but I thought I'd put in my $.02 worth. I joined the Cove after access was restricted, so I haven't known it any other way. I think what you're offering above is great. There have been several recent threads where people have wanted help and asked for others to review attachments. The only ones able to do so were those who have paid for the priviledge. Many others have been willing to help, but have had to resort to posting their email address and asking for a copy to be sent. By making attachments more widely available, those asking for help will be likely to receive more responses.

I have held off on posting any attachments up until now because I know there are many (like myself) that would not be able to access them. Now that I know more people will have access I plan to start posting attachments. I decided not too long after I found the site that I will visit here as often as I have the time to - mostly to help where I can, but also to broaden my own knowledge and understanding by reading and learning from the insight of others. I will probably support the site financially at some point, but haven't yet made that decision. In the mean time, hopefully I can support the site at least in some way by participating regularly in the threads.

Question 1326 Forum Access

Hi Marc,

I had some questions with regards in downloading the attachments to posts in forums. Basically, I don't have any Master Card or Credit Card, but I'm willing to pay the $25 fee for a year of subscription because it was a great help and very reasonable considering that it is a small amount.

Is there a way on how am I going to transmit the subscription fee? Are there any bank (that is available in the Philppines) account where I can deposit the amount? If there is, am I going to buy the dollars before transmitting the amount? Please advice.

Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Raffy
