Our company is launching a new product and our customer is expecting to get a FMEA according to VDA 4.2. As I only have experience on making FMEA's in a "QS9000 style" and not in VDA I need some help.
Is somewhere in the net or in this forum a comparission between QS9000 and VDA FMEA's available or is anybody out there who could explain this is in a brief way ??
Generally the process is the same.
See http://iqualitys.com/pdf/ for the PFMEA criteria.
Generally the VDA does not demand to see the FMEA.
Best wishes

Since our company is audited to QS9000 and VDA6, all the FMEA questions, I thought, were asked based on QS9000. In looking at 4.2 in VDA6, I don't see where an FMEA is mandated. However, as Howard pointed out, I think the FMEA format would be the same.
