Re: New Folks - Please Take a Minute & Introduce Yourself/Say Hello! (2009-2010)

Hi all,
My name is Glenn, I have worked in the automotive leather bussiness for 20+ years now starting in manufacturing and then in technical managment, working closely with the quality group.

I am currently consulting for a Tannery, assisting in setting up a quality and enviromental system (from scratch) . I have some experince in internal auditing but should have listened a little better to my peers when they were getting prepared for the TS 16949 and 140001 audits.

This web site is awesome as far as the information I have recieved here it is a great help.

Regards to all.
Glenn

Re: New Folks - Please Take a Minute & Introduce Yourself/Say Hello! (2009-2010)

1. My name is Nick Hopkins
2. QHSE/Purchasing/Inventory Manager
3. GOM Oilfield, Subsea controls, Chemical Injection
4. Stella Maris, lafayette louisiana
5. Spent 2 years as a DNV cert Auditor with another company but took over this position about 1 year ago.
6. Most of my oilfiled experience was on the other side of the fence, purchasing/inventory control, foreman...etc so I have a great dedication to keeping this QMS as simple and "plain english" as possible.
7. My pet peeve when is comes to quality is that our company is young, 4 years, and never really worked a QMS before, so there's allot of uphill fighting to be done.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? Cut allot of the repetition out. Make it clean and effecient and clearly understood.

Really glad to have lucked upon this place. Seems like every question I have there's an answer hanging about from someone in the same boat.

Re: New Folks - Please Take a Minute & Introduce Yourself/Say Hello! (2009-2010)

Hi all from the soggy, dismal, dreary, Pacific Northwest! (Only about four more months of rain to go till summer!)

1. Name: Clint Mann
2. Job Title or explanation of what you do: Quality Manager
3. Industry you're in or have been in: Currently in aviation manufacturing
4. Company you work for and location: Oregon Aero, Inc. located in the PNW as mentioned earlier!
5. Length of time in quality function: Been in quality for 25 years, more or less
6. Something personal that sets you apart: I'm an optimist, really
7. Your pet peeve in quality (pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill a great level of frustration): Everyone thinks quality is my job, alone, by myself, the Quality Guy...
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do?: Give all of us an across the board 10% raise, corner office with great view (and sunshine!), and the respect that we deserve for trying to keep our companies running (and the bosses out of jail!)

That's it for now, I have to get up and move around every so often because up here all stationary things tend to grow mold, rust, or other things to horrible to mention....

Clint
