The menfolk are off on their hunting trip at the camp near Millinockett, and I am cleaning carpets. It's my habit to do a big, pain-in-the-ass project during this week when they're away, so I can have the house in disarray during the time and it doesn't matter.
It can be very satisfying. One year I reupholstered the couch, and even changed its style with padding and different back cushions, enough so that when they got back I was quizzed: "Wow, nice couch. Where's the couch? Really, you did that?? No WAY!!" I felt very smug as I peeled away the bottom cushions to prove it was the same couch, just re-done.
I play baritone horn for a community band. Today was the annual Salvation Army Kettle Kickoff, where we go and play for an hour or so in the mall. Tomorrow I will go with them to play at a Kora Temple Christmas Tree Feztival. Then, this week I will do homework while the carpets dry. I have no idea what I'll do on Thanksgiving day other than homework and videos down here in the basement office.

I guess, but I don't go on vacation trips, though my husband and I often talk about how nice it would be. In May I think I will go to Seattle though, to stay with my sister and mom, whom Joanne is caring for heroically, and go to the Folk Festival - hence the May timetable.
I think the heroism is yet to be seen, to go do tomorrow's little concert after 8+ hours of carpet cleaning. I don't have any solos anyway, save for the random few notes. I pretty much play a support role in the band.
I've been going to the gym lately so I feel more up to this than I otherwise might.
