This standard is for managing IT services. The other standard is ISO 17799 and equivalent is BS 7799.
The grapewine is that the BS 15000 standards are going to change in November'2002. It is going on split into two- BS 15000-1 and BS 15000-2 and also PD 005 and PD 015 are to be complied.
Any help from viewers please

BS 15000 Certification
BSI Management Systems wrote the BS 15000 Std. This is a pure IT std based on ITIL practices.
There is an upgrade path from ISO 9001:2000. The cost is based on the required number of days which is based on the number of people in your organization. Typically they will follow Guide 62 guidelines for ISO 9001 and add 1 or 2 days. BSI is one of the main CB for certification. As far as I know they are the only CB with Certified Auditors in the US.
Other CB are accedited but have no "local" auditors at this time. So far inquiries have been low.
The STD can be purchased at www.basiamericas.com
There are free downloads of BS 15000 information on the BSI website.
I have performed compliance audits to BS 15000 and it is excellent for IT or data Centers.

Yes, but you can correct two things: - the BSI Americas webpage is mispelled
- BS15000 was probably written by BSI, not BSI MS. BSI MS is a Registrar, related body of BSI, the Standard Development Group
Let us know.

You're correct Sidney, BSI is the standards body for the UK and wrote BS15000.
The address for BSI Management Systems (Yeah! Chears! ) is www.bsiamericas.com
Both training and registration services are offered as is the standard (for a fee of course)
