Continual Improvement, Preventive Action and Corrective Action Database
Hello Covers,
I had reason to strip down my home rolled Continual Improvement, Preventive Action and Corrective Action (Measure) database per request. I thought I would share it with all my friends at Elsmar Cove.
Hopefully, when you open it up it will be self-explanatory. There are a few things you need to know:
Requires Microsoft Access 2007. Rename the extension from .mdb to .accdb. Elsmar upload filters do not recognize the .accdb extension.
The first entries are "seeds" for the automatic "Initiative Numbering System" that creates a unique number for each entry. Don't delete them or the numbering system won't work. They are samples that list what goes in each entry box. You can print them as "blank forms" for your system documentation.
If you mistakenly click on a "Create New..." button, do not enter a date below the Log # and exit the form. Access will not save the record without this date.
Entering a date in the "Date Implemented" field in the "Actions Taken" section will move the record from "Open" to "Closed" for the purposes of the "View/Edit Open..." and "Preview Open..." buttons.
Enjoy!

Re: Continual Improvement, Preventive Action and Corrective Action Database
You're welcome, Marc. Another note: If you don't like your first entry in each category to be a "sample", you can edit the existing entry data to whatever your first CI, PA, or CA turns out to be.

There is a read-only version of MS Access called Runtime that is a free download from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en
This will allow users to run and enter data into your database. It will not allow them to enter the design view or create tables, forms, queries, etc.

Re: Continual Improvement, Preventive Action and Corrective Action Database
How did you create this database? I'm just curious if I wanted to change up a form or would like to create a database for my other quality inspection type.
