Seis sigma es una herramienta complementaria de la mejora continua especificada en QS 9000 tercera edición, así como también un excelente complemento del uso las técnicas estadísticas exigidas en el numeral 4.20, ademas te ayudará a mantener continuamente la capacidad de tus procesos relevantes.
Creo que a través de toda la norma QS9000 esta herramienta tiene una aplicación especial, no olividemos que el objeto particular del sistema de gestión QS 9000 es e mejoramiento continuo.

Lightbulb Six Sigma y QS 9000


Estimados amigos:
Veo que están tomando a Six Sigma como una herramienta y en realidad no lo es. Six Sigma es una estrategia de negocios "sofisticada" que conduce, como sub-producto a niveles de calidad nunca antes alcanzado.
Por ejemplo, para alcanzar los 3.4 defectos por millón de oportunidades (dpmo) es necesario tener una infraestructura humana que se mueve desde el tope de la organización hasta el piso.
No hay duda que si usas el control estadístico de procesos, los amef, los planes de control, el qfd, etc., no hay duda que puedes obtener grandes avances en control de procesos pero esa no es la función de Six Sigma.
La función de SS es la satisfacción del cliente a través de una estructura de proyectos (DMAIC) que enfoca los CTQ (critical to quality) de diferentes tipos: CTD (critical to delivery), CTS (critical to satisfaction), CTC (critical to cost) y CTP (critical to process).
Hay que tener cuidado en la aplicación de SS si no tienes un Champion, unos cuantos Black Belts y una cadena de Green Belts que soporten una gama compleja de proyectos de mejoramiento de la satisfacción del cliente.
La calidad mejorada es un derivado de SS.
