Food Safety Manual Policy Statements on some sections of ISO 22000
I'm writing the policy statements for our food safety manual however, wehn I go through standard I am confused about the following sections:
7.7 Updating of Preliminary Information and Documents Specifying the PRPs and HACCP Plan
7.8 Verification Planning
7.9 Traceability System
7.10 Control of Nonconformity
8. Validation, Verification and Improvement of the Food Safety Management System
8.1 General
8.2 Validation of Control Measure Combinations
8.3 Control of Monitoring and Measuring
8.4 Food Safety Management System Verification
8.5 Improvement
Any guidance is highly appreciated.

I'm writing the policy statements for our food safety manual however, wehn I go through standard I am confused about the following sections:
7.7 Updating of Preliminary Information and Documents Specifying the PRPs and HACCP Plan - After you write the PRPs and HACCP, keep them up to date (product changes, equipment changes, supplier changes, etc)
7.8 Verification Planning - Who, what and how are PRP/CCP being verified
7.9 Traceability System - know what came into your facility, where it was used and where it went
7.10 Control of Nonconformity - if it is wrong, fix it and/or make sure it does not get used or distributed
8. Validation, Verification and Improvement of the Food Safety Management System
8.1 General - You built it, now make sure it works and keeps getting better
8.2 Validation of Control Measure Combinations - Prove that your control limits can be met
8.3 Control of Monitoring and Measuring - keep records of what you monitor and make sure you use calibrated equipment when necessary
8.4 Food Safety Management System Verification - Audit your system, evaluate your monitoring results for effectiveness and analyze your data that you collected
8.5 Improvement - Improve your system based on the results from 8.3, 8.5 along with industry, regulatory and customer feedback.
Any guidance is highly appreciated.

Hi tsmith7858,
I followed your advice.
I just finished policy statements for 4 sections. Please check the attached file. Your comment is very much appreciated.

I'll do the remaining sections.

8.3 would be the only concern. You mention re-accessing the tool if found out of calibration but make no mention of the products run since last calibration. You do reference control of non conforming so as long as the procedure you are referencing provides the detail then this is fine.
Proving continous improvement and performing good corrective and preventive actions are some of the toughest elements and often the most cited. Your wording is fine but you need to be able to show your results.
