Question Measurement Uncertainty using Control Chart

According to ASTM E2554 we can use control chart to determine uncertainty of a test (ASTM tests). The standard deviation is the uncertainty for that particular test. A2LA has the same guide. Control charting seems a simple and straightforward way to determine uncertainty.

If I follow ASTM test methods, and use control chart to determine my MU, would I meet ISO17025 Clause 5.4.6 requirement?

Re: Measurement Uncertainty using Control Chart

I think it depends on two things :

1. What type of Testing are you doing (i.e if there are other established method, way easier, doesn't require validation for that matter that can be used as reference for the MU calculation

2. Other factors affecting the test results - your assumptions, steps, etc.

A more detailed question would enlightened us here better, I think ;-)
