Hello,

Does anybody have an example (or can guide me) of validating the ultrasonic cleaning process?

Thanks,

John

Re: Ultrasonic cleaning validation

Welcome to the Cove!

What is getting cleaned, and to what standard of cleanliness do you need to adhere? Is this for medical, nuclear, oxygen systems, something else?

Re: Ultrasonic cleaning validation

Medical, non-sterile. Basic instruments, buffing compound is the worst case scenario.
They are not cleaned to any standard.

Thanks for the warm welcoming!

Re: Validation of Ultrasonic Cleaning Process for Basic Tools & Buffing Compound

The areas you want to look at are cytoxicity (<= 2), removability (oils/rouge), & particulate counts. You’ll need worst case (heavy load & largest size) and limits of the process (least surfactant).

While buffing compound might be the worst case for removability (grease/oil base) that might not be true of cyto and even dependent what surfactant you’re using. One made for buffing compound (BuffClean type) or something else more final wash (CIP 100) .
Thank You to JaxQC for your informative Post and/or Attachment!
