ISO 14001 - Registration (Certification) Audit Tips and Tricks
Looking for Hints or examples from people that have been audited against ISO 14001, from the IDE to the certification audit. I am interested also in even some of the findings you have encountered.

Re: ISO 14001 - Registration (Certification) Audit Tips and Tricks
If your system is new and this is your first audit (stage 1 or 2) then the first thing that you need to focus on is the compliance, i.e. to make sure all the clauses/ shalls are duly addressed and make sure that EMS is practically implemented, means is should be visible to anyone who 'sees' it. You should have atleast conducted one internal audit and a management review (just to see if the system is prima facie established and implemented) before the system is audited by the CB.
The areas where you initially need to put in more time and energy should be identification of Environmental Aspects, determination of SA and how they are linked to the environment policy, objectives and targets.
Right now I don't have sample audit findings with me but I'll try to collect them from old records. Meanwhile, I'm sure you will get more inputs from other Covers.

As I read and gather that you are from zimbabwe presently, I would ask you to find out all your legal requirements applicable towards environment, understand them and see how much your organization falls within meeting the said legal requirements.
Understanding, adopting and meeting the applicable legal requirements is a vital area.

Re: ISO 14001 - Registration (Certification) Audit Tips and Tricks
Thank you very much. We have scheduled for Internal Audits and Management Review, but will go ahead with the Stage 1 audit. We do have audit results for previous internal audits. For the Stage 2 audit we will have results for the Management Review.

Most of the findings are in 4.3.1/4.6.6/4.6.7.Especially in 4.4.7 emergency response.

Re: ISO 14001 - Registration (Certification) Audit Tips and Tricks
I'm curious...Exactly what are the requirements of 4.6.6 & 4.6.7? I have a small bit of experience with ISO 14001 as an auditor and these have always confused me..
