Serious Drop in Daily Visitors starting 28 July 2012
I'm not sure what's happening - Google's Penguin update? Olympics? Those combined with the normal summer "downturn"?
If I figure anything out I'll let you know.

The Elsmar Cove Web Site Visitor Statistics - July 2012
Reminder: Because this thread is so long, and because each time I post new stats the number of pictures in each post goes up, I am simplifying how I post monthly stats.
For stats from 2004 through April 2012, go to Post 203 in this thread.
Future posts (including this one) will only contain the relevant month's statistics.
Elsmar Cove Visitor Stats - July 2012
Elsmar Cove Forum Specifics for July 2012
Elsmar Server Site Log File Analysis Data for July 2012
Elsmar Server Site Log File Analysis Data (Daily) for July 2012
Elsmar Server Site Log File Analysis Data (Day of the Week and Hourly) for July 2012
*Hourly graph is keyed to Central Standard Time US (Dallas, Texas).
NOTE: Server Stats *should* be more accurate than Google Analytics numbers because Google Analytics code isn't on every page on the server. But then again, log file analysis is always kinda iffy as well. Server stats are very inclusive/broad so that aspect has to be taken into account.
Google Analytics Site Specifics for July 2012

NOTE 1: Additional Directly Measured Statistics are also be available at Quantcast. When considering Qualtcast's ranking, remember that as of this post there are over 330,000,000 web sites on the internet of which 20% to 35% (depending upon the source providing the estimate) are "active" so there somewhere in the neighborhood of 80,000,000 "active" web sites. Taken in that light, as small as it is, Elsmar ranks pretty highly.
NOTE 2: There has been a significant change to Google's search ranking algorithm - First "Panda", and now "Penguin". Elsmar is still doing quite well, but we have seen some reduced traffic lately. Some of the recent traffic may be going down because of the summer holidays and plant shutdowns in the northern hemisphere.
Over time, going back to 2004 when I started tracking and posting here, Elsmar has seen a positive trend, but as is evident, there are ups and downs from month to month and year to year. I also think that playing into this is that with Facebook and LinkedIn becoming ever more popular there are many folks who spend less time here than they once did. None the less, all in all I think traffic here is doing pretty good. I do think traffic is more focused than in the past. It's hard to tell what Google will do, though. A bit over 60% of traffic here is from Google search.

I have made a lot of changes, but with respect to Google's Panda and Penguin "hit" on Elsmar.com on 25 thru 28 July 2012 it is hard to predict what the future will bring. It is 4 September 2012 and there appears to be some recovery.

Re: The Elsmar Cove Web Site Visitor Statistics - 2004 through 2012
Mark,
Although I am a relatively new visitor to the cove, I find it quite informative.
I hope this site is around for a long time to come. (Even after I retire)

As an FYI - Here is a graph going back to the start of Google Analytics tracking in August 2008:
