We’ll be going to my parents to as usual and totally engorging ourselves. All of us kids bring something so mom doesn’t have to do much. Ours is pretty traditional turkey, Ham, dressing, cranberries, greenbeans etc., three kinds of pie (my wife makes the best pie), couple of different wines and beer, soft drinks etc. ….. and…. Oh yeah… forktrucks to get us up from the table.

What do other cov’ers do??

To those not in the US. Do you have a “thankgiving” feast day? What is your like?

Same as above except we are the parents of grown children with children. So, it's our house. The missus goes crazy with the groceries and puts out way too much food. But, as James pointed out, you don't realize that until the forklift arrives.

Our family is scattered across the U.S. so we all call each other. For the rest of us in the area, we have Turkey Day at our house and I would not have it any other way. My brother-in-law has family here in Michigan so we invite them over as well. I plan for more than a week. All the kids and other family, friends and neighbors come over and we spend an enjoyable day together. When we all are at the table and before we eat, we hold hands and give thanks and say prayers. After dinner we sit around the table and talk, laugh, and solve all the problems of the world. Towards evening we may watch a movie or bring out the games or both.

I never ask the kids or anyone to bring anything, I enjoy making the meal.

Pretty much the same here. All of our family and friends gather at our house and I LOVE it. I do believe that this is my favorite holiday. I have in-laws driving up from Florida and people coming from all over Georgia.

We will be watching Green Bay and Detroit play and just enjoying the wonderful family and friends that we have.

This year we are having Thanksgiving out at my sister's house in Imlay City. My parents are coming up from Indiana for the w/end and her husband's family will also be there. All in all - 8 adults and 6 kids.

My sister is making a turkey and a ham, green bean casserole, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and a fruit salad.

My parents are bringing the desserts - pies (Mom makes the best pumpkin pie completely from scratch with real pumpkin) and that bannana pudding thing with the 'nilla wafers.

We are bringing the appetizers - a huge cheese/meat/olives/crackers tray and a nice shrimp cocktail platter. I'll be peeling and deveining shrimp tonight unless I can unload that job on the hubby!!

My sister's husband's Mom and sister are bringing the soft drinks, beer and ice.

My other sister is in Maine - she and her family are moving to Florida soon - her husband recently retired from the Marine Corps and has been offered a job down there - so they couldn't come to Michigan this year. And my brother is in Tel Afar(sp?), Iraq.
