Continual Improvement Book
Hello, everyone:
Paton Press has just published a book of mine entitled “The Continual Improvement Process: From Strategy to the Bottom Line.” The book presents a portfolio of continual improvement tools, providing explicit guidance and examples at every step of the way. Topics covered include strategic planning, development of key measures, deployment and communication of key measures, business review and analysis, process orientation, problem solving, internal auditing, and cultivating the culture of continual improvement. The overall focus of the book is on getting real results that impact the long-term success and competitiveness of the organization. This is larger and wider-ranging book than my first one on customer satisfaction, and I’m proud of the way it came out. I sincerely believe it can facilitate strategic continual improvement for just about any organization.
The book is available from the publisher's website:
http://www.patonpress.com/xcart/cust...c3c91874603aa2
It should be available on amazon.com soon, but it’s not there yet.
If anyone gets the book, I'll send them electronic copies of all the tools and examples that are shown. I'd also love to hear feedback of any sort on the book, as always.
Talk to you later,
Craig

Greg,
Thanks for your interest in the book. Yes, they can ship to Australia. They're not very clear on what it costs, though. On their website, thay say, "For orders outside of the U.S. and Canada, please fax or mail your order information to us. We can then provide you with an accurate price and estimated delivery time for your order." I'll drop them an email tomorrow and ask what it takes to get it over to your side of the world. If the shipping is ridiculous, I'll personally ship it myself. Thanks again for your interest, my friend. Whenever I talk to you, it seems like I'm always drinking a beer and you're always at work. Ah, the different time zones...

Thanks Craig. Actually I am on leave for three weeks and at this time (Midday) the Australian Golf Championship has just come on the TV so I too may sit back with a cold beer and rest for the afternoon

Craig,
How about providing some 'out takes' or 'excerpts' here for Cove 'regulars'?
Maybe do a few chapters or sub-sets of chapters of your book... Maybe even a Poll or two: Here's what I think this tool will do for you... Have you tried this? If so, what did it accomplish or did it not accompish anything? (You have the idea, I'm sure).

Marc,
Excellent idea! I'll get cracking on that immediately. Thanks for the guidance. The Cove is an amazing place with amazing people.

I have looked through the book and seen some interesting information. I will post a review after I have read the entire book.
