Default Inexpensive SPC I can email

We are looking for SPC software for one computer only, not a network, that will provide histograms with CP, Cpk, Pp, Ppk, Average, Std. Deviation, etc., that we can email to a customer and they will be able to open it on their end. We now have a software that we are not able to email, unless we print the chart and scan it. I know it sounds like we are in the dark ages. We do have Minitab for certain customers, but we are looking for something quick and easy for us and the customers. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Instead of getting a new SPC package, you could just get Adobe Acrobat. With it you can print directly to a PDF file, which can be emailed and opened by anyone with their free reader. Does that sound like it will work for you?

Another simple option is to put everything into an MSWord file and email that as an attachment. From Minitab (and many other programs), you can Copy the graphs, then open a Word document and Paste the image in place. Then you can also add captions, explanantions, etc.

In most cases you do not even need to buy Acrobat -- which is a little pricey. Try www.pdf995.com for free software that will convert most any document format into a .pdf file, which can then be opened by anyone with Acrobat Reader (also free).

This is a small spreadsheet program that I did, the primary objective of that program is to analize data fast, even taking out outliers (it's optional to you), I tink this program will make a long discusion, but check it may be of help to you.

You have to put the data from a12 to a... and permit load macros in excel(sorry about the macros, but it's the only general way to do it), don't change the names of the worksheets.

Jager - The suggestions given are all good but I am wondering if you are looking for a way to send the file to the customer and allow them to actually work with the data in the same format you see it in your plant. For example, if you were doing daily measurements from 5 cavities in a mold, the customer may wish to review a portion of those days or maybe just one of the cavities. It would probably be convienent for them to be looking at the same program as you just for communication purposes.

If my assumption is correct, I suggest you use the attached program on your data collection computer and also send it to your customer. The SPC file specific to the individual part can then be sent via email and read in the identical program at the other end. This is a demo version (full function but limited capacity) so it is free and would probably be plenty for your customer. If you wanted the licensed version it is only about $100.
