From the date of your audit, how long did it take to get the actual certificate?

Registrar's have objectives?!?!
Kidding aside, during our last recert audit (not to be confused with the transition audit), it took us around 3-4 months to get our certificate. My boss (then the top dog in our department) called and called and called some more. Our Registrar told her that they had recently moved and changed software programs for maintaining their client lists. In other words, they were experiencing some technical difficulties.
It took all of our control not to ask about their quality and contingency planning. I mean...if we had given that as an excuse, odds are we would hae lost our cert...

Re: ISO 9001-2000 Certificate
Well we completed our transition in early September without and nonconformances and we have yet to receive our new certificate. This is frustrating in part because we have many clients that would liek acopy of our 9001:2000 cert. for their records and we cannot give it to them. We have called our Registrar and they said the person responsible for sending out updated certs left the company blah, blah, blah, blah. Just give me my cert. and save the excuses.

Re: ISO 9001-2000 Certificate
Hi folks, have to make my first post at sometime !!!
We completed the transition to the revised standard during an audit on 13 Jan 2003. I had to chase my certification body for the cert and this duly arrived with a date of 28 March 2003.
Similar excuse of 'change of personnel' etc
Oddly enough we received an 'unaccredited' cert for 9002 from same body, which I sent back with a rather stern letter. Perhaps I should follow-up the corrective action I demanded.
Hope you receive your certs soon.

Absolutley. Welcome aboard. I have it from reliable sources that none of us (with a few possible exceptions) bite.

Really? How interesting. I do wonder what you were supposed to do with it?

Re: ISO 9001-2000 Certificate
While we got an ISO/TS2 cert I think it might apply here as well. We had our audit the last week of September and completed corrective actions by end of October, then implemented by the end of Novemebr and sent evidence. Then with the Holiday and the fact that they came from the U.K. we bugged our registrar and got them by X-mas. So in all it took a little under three months from the audit. I answered 0 - 31 days on the poll thinking it was after acceptance of objective evidence on corrective actions.

Re: ISO 9001-2000 Certificate
We waited for 2 months for ours, and had LOTS of customers on our backs for a copy of the new cert for their files. I had my supervisor call twice, and she didn't really get a good excuse. I had about decided that if it did not arrive by the first of December, I would issue a corrective action to them, but it arrived right before Thanksgiving, so I did not get to try that avenue out
As someone else noted, if I had been that late on something in our system, they would have at least given us a Minor ding. No reason for them to be immune, given the amount of money we pay them.
