Business plan/ Benchmark - Input of business plan/marketing strategy and benchmarks

Can anyone explain me how I must interpret the input of business plan/marketing strategy and benchmark in APQP. I don't understand if you must look for every product to the business plan and do benchmarking for every product or is it that you just look at your benchmark data in general.

I hope anyone can give his input on this. Thanks in advance.

Your business plan is not typically focused on 1 product.

I'll have to let someone else comment on benchmarking.

we benchmark the process not the product. Activities such a tool change over time, levels of work in progress, etc seem to be quite common
