Quid Pro Quo Inspection & Test System for Distribution Centers

I would like some input from those of you who are primarily distributors and have been registered to ISO 9001. How do you deal with Verification of Purchased Product (7.4.3), Plan for the required verification, validation, monitoring, inspection and test activities specific to the product and the criteria for product acceptance (7.1 c), and then monitor and measure the characteristics of the product to verify that product requirements have been met (8.2.4)?

Thanks,
Doug

No one here working in a distribution center? I'm surprised!

So am I. I used to work at a spare parts depot, but that was during the ISO9002:1994 era, so I cannot answer.

I have ideas based on my observations of good and bad activities at suppliers who are distributors, but Purdy seemed to want a specific response from "primarily distributors and have been registered to ISO 9001."
I don't know many distributors who are registered - doesn't have much value added, in my opinion. I see less value to a distributor being registered than a bank or hospital.

UPS is registered:

Why not ask them how they handle the points? I'm sure they'd tell.

Default Thanks for Picking this up!

I do appreciate the information this forum and its contributors provide. I was waiting to see if I would get any response without having to prod or beg. I did on other issues (e.g., Design & Development) and was not taken favorably. So, I have been reviewing more than contributing.

Thanks,
Doug
